ABSTRACT
The presence of microorganisms on the surfaces in the veterinary ambulances could be a possible source of nosocomial infection. Incidin foam used on disinfection of surfaces in premises of traumatological investigation room is fast-acting disinfectant ready-to-use clean and disinfect. The study is focused on the assessment of biological hazards and hygiene standards by microbiological swabs from different surfaces in the environment of the Clinic of Small Animals. The swabs for microbiological control of disinfection were taken from the area of 10 cm2 before starting the investigation of patient, during investigation of patient and after disinfection. The evaluated area (10 cm2) was
wiped with a wetted cotton swab. The microbiological swabs were put in 10 ml of a saline solution. From the mixture obtained 0.1 ml was applied to Meat peptone agar and Endo agar. In practical conditions found out, disinfectant Incidin foam which was used in concentrated form was effective on all evaluated surfaces (lamp, table for instruments) but only on examination table was found 25 CFU (colony forming units) of TCB (total count of bacteria) and 5 CFU of coliform bacteria after disinfection. Based on our results obtained in practical conditions it can be presented following, that provision of preventive and regular cleaning and disinfection in premises of the Clinic of Small Animals has importance.
