ABSTRACT
Hyperlipidemia is a major metabolic disorder vastly seen in this era of
modernization and fast life, living with stressful life and fast foods
having high calories and also has every comfort of living and not doing
any kind of physical activity. A cluster of other metabolic risk factors
are often found in association with this hyperlipidemia including
obesity, Glucose intolerance, insulin resistance and hypertension
Patients with familial hypercholesterolemia (FH) have an even greater
risk of developing Cardio Vascular Disease (CVD) at an earlier age;
therefore, early detection and treatment are imperative to reduce
cardiovascular events and premature death. In Allopathic Medicine Hyperlipidemia is treated
with statins group of drugs such as Simvastatin, Atorvastatin, Rotuvastatin etc. These drugs
cause adverse effects on the different organs of the body mainly on liver, kidney. These drugs
are not safe for long term use. Therefore a clinical study on hyperlipidemia was performed to
know the combined effect of Safoof Muhazzi, Lifestyle changes and Yoga practices. In this
clinical study there is a significant decrease in serum cholesterol, LDL, Triglyceride and
Body Mass Index due to combined effects of Safoof Muhazzil, Lifestyle changes and Yoga
practices.
