AN OBSERVATIONAL STUDY TO FIND OUT THE AEROBIC CAPACITY OF THE NORMAL OVERWEIGHT WOMEN USING 3 MINUTE STEP TEST

ABSTRACT
Background: Obesity is a common problem nowadays because of sedentary lifestyle and lack of physical activity. Obesity is in all age groups and both in developed and developing countries. It have the risk of developing cardiovascular diseases as well as metabolic disorders. Cardio-respiratory fitness can be assessed by evaluating maximal oxygen consumption(vo2max), that is aerobic capacity. Aim: The aim of the study is to find out the aerobic capacity of the normal and overweight women and compare the both. Methodology: A total 50 womens are selected and they are separated into 2 groups, Group A consist of 25 overweight females and Group B consists of 25 normal
weight women according to her BMI and WHR. The both overweight and normal weight women will perform a 3 minute step test to measure the aerobic capacity. Results: Group A show significant difference in BMI, WHR, VO2MAX when compare to Group B. Conclusion: The study shows that there is a reduced aerobic capacity in overweight women than a normal weight women.
