A CLINICAL STUDY TO EVALUATE THE EFFICACY OF BOTH DADIMADI GHRUTA AND PUNARNAVA MANDURA IN GARBHINI PANDU

ABSTRACT
Pallor of body is the characteristics feature of pandu roga which is similar to anaemia with reduction in number of RBC’S per cumm of blood and quantity of haemoglobin resulting in pallor. There is no direct reference of Garbhini pandu in Ayurveda, except Acharya Kashyapa has described Pandu as a symptom of Garbhini in the description of Rakta gulma. Acharya Harita has also described vivarnatva as one of the eight complications of Garbha. Anaemia is one of the most common nutritional deficiency disorders affecting pregnant women. Anemia is defined as a condition in which there is less than the normal haemoglobin level in the body. Aims and objectives: To study the efficacy of both Punarnava mandura and Dadimaadi ghruta in Garbhini pandu in 18th week to 24th week of pregnancy. Design: Open labelled clinical study. Materials and methods: The study was conducted on 40 patients of Garbhini pandu for a period of 6 weeks. Conclusion: The results suggest that both Dadimaadi ghruta and Punarnava mandoora is significantly effective in the management of Garbhini pandu.
