Abstract

AN OVERVIEW OF MEDICINAL PLANTS HAVING BURN HEALING ACTIVITY

ABSTRACT

Burn is a common traumatic skin condition characterized by tissue damage and proliferation. Herbal medicines is a botanical medicines which is used in ancient times and having better pharmacological action and therapeutic efficacy.[1,2] Plant having lots of chemical substances which having burn healing activity. Herbal preparations having more advantages than the conventional medicines. Herbal preparationsis safe and free from side effects. By considering these facts the present review aims to reveal the up to date literature on recent ethnomedical uses with phytochemical review of two different medicinal plants Basella alba, Aloe vera which are commonly used for treatment of burn injury in ayurvedic system of medicine.
