*Ram P. Yadav and Ajay Singh
ABSTRACT
The malathion pesticide has shows strong piscicidal acivity in freshwater teleost fish Colisa fasciatus. Sub-lethal doses (40% and 60% of LC50 of 24h) of malathion after 96h was also significantly alter the levels of total protein, total free amino acid, in muscle and liver tissues, nucleic acid (DNA & RNA) in gonadal tissues and the activity of enzyme acetycholinesterase (AChE), lactic dehydrogenase (LDH) and succinic dehydrogenase (SDH) in nervous tissue of the freshwater teleost fish Colisa fasciatus in time and dose dependent manner at different season.
Keywords: Piscicidal, enzyme activity, metabolism.
