CYCLOSPORIN INDUCED RENAL DAMAGE: A CASE REPORT
Dona Johnson*, Arshad K. T., Aneeta Jacob, Amala T. A., Sanjana Suresh
ABSTRACT Cyclosporin is lipophilic polypeptide having 11 aminoacids. It have a unique immunosuppressive activity. It mainly acts on lymphocytes particularly helper T cells to produce suppression in cell mediated immunity. Their action is mainly by forming complex with cyclophilin in the cytoplasm. This complex then binds to calcineurin which is a calcium and calmodulin dependent phospholase. This leads to the activation or translocation of a nuclear factor, which binds and transcribe the interlukin 2 gene. Cyclosporins also inhibit other cytokines including interferones and interlukins.[1] Keywords: . [Download Article] [Download Certifiate] |
