A REVIEW ON SIDDHA HERBAL FORMULATION KURUNTHOTTI KUDINEER FOR THE MANAGEMENT OF CEREBRAL PALSY CHILDREN

ABSTRACT
Many plants are important to cure various human ailments. India has a rich source of naturally occurring herbal plants which have huge as well as great pharmacological functions. A lot of medicinal plants are used in treating various disorders. Herbal medicines play a vital role in siddha, Various pharmaceuticals companies conducting extensive research on plant materials which have high potential value. The Siddha system of medicine kurunthotti kudineer has an enormous collection of herbal formulations for pacifies the aggravated vatha dosham, stimulate digestion, absorption, congestive enhancing activity,
laxative activity which controls Siravatham (Cerebral palsy) symptoms. Cerebral palsy is one of the most serious social stigma encountered in the developed countries contributing approximately to almost half of all cases of vatha disease. Although various modern treatments and medical technologies are steadily progressing in the present era, majority of the causes are obviously unknown and therefore still unable to put forth the specific solution for the problem. In addition the synthetic drug therapy employed to treat siravatham is more complicated and heavily loaded with a multitude of side effects. The authors‟ of this paper decided to review the existing Siddha traditional Poly herbal formulations „‟Kurunthotti Kudineer‟‟ evidence from Classical text „‟ Baala aasiryam and baala vagada aasiryam‟‟. The In-vitro & In-vivo studies of kurunthotti kudineer Ingredients shows potent anti-vatha activity. This review work is an initial step towards, scientifically studying our Siddha “Kurunthotti Kudineer” an anti-vatha pure herbal formulation. It helps to standardize and improve this formulation for the well being & benefit of mankind.
