ABSTRACT
Limnophila repens is an annual herb grows in tropical Asia. It is widely used in folk medicine as an antioxidant, antimicrobial, anticancer, anti-mycobacterial. The present study highlights the phytochemical and in-vitro pharmacological studies of various extracts of whole plant of Limnophila repens. The phytochemical screening of the plant extracts shows the presence of various chemical constituents. The aqueous extract shows potent anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory activity when compared to other extracts. The presence of chemical constituents such as carbohydrate, alkaloids, phenolics, saponins, flavanoids may be responsible for the anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory activities.
Keywords: Limnophila repens, anti-oxidant, anti inflammatory.
