ABSTRACT
Helminthiasis, also known as worm infection, is any macroplastic disease of humans and other animals in which part of the body is infected with parasitic worms, known as helminthes. The currently available marketed drugs like albendazole and mebendazole contain benzimidazole in their chemical structure. Counting on the relevance of newer drugs due to the increasing drug resistance of the parasites against the existing drugs, the current study aimed at synthesis of some novel derivatives of benzimidazole and evaluation of their anthelmintic activity.
Keywords: Benzimidazole derivatives, anthelmintic.
