ABSTRACT
Production diseases in cattle are characterized by imbalance between the rate of input of dietary nutrients and the output of production. This study was conducted in Gabalawlia locality of Khartoum State during February and August months of the year 2018. The study was aiming for determining total protein, albumin, globulin and minerals (Ca2+, K+, Na+, Mg2+, P.) in blood of dairy cattle. A total of 70 blood samples were collected from empty and pregnant dairy cattle at different stages of lactation. Total protein albumin and globulin were measured using a digital colorimeter and kits (biosystem kits) in the laboratory of college of Veterinary Medicine, University of Bahri, Sudan. Minerals were measured using biosystem estimation kits and
spectrophotometer in Central Veterinary Laboratories (Suba, Sudan). Total protein results were different from the standard mean (p< 0.05) in low and high producer dairy cows at early stages of pregnancy, producer dairy cows at medium stages of pregnancy and low producer dairy cows at late stages of pregnancy. Albumin results were different from the standard mean (p> 0.05) in empty high and low producer dairy cows, producer dairy cows at early stages of pregnancy, producer dairy cows at medium stages of pregnancy and medium and high producer dairy cows at late stages of pregnancy. Globulin results were different from the standard mean (p> 0.05) in empty medium producer dairy cows, producer dairy cows at early stages of pregnancy, producer dairy cows at medium stages of pregnancy and medium and high producer dairy cows at late stages of pregnancy. Calcium results showed no differences from the standard mean (p< 0.05), in serum samples and the standard mean of all stages of lactation and pregnancy. Phosphate results showed no differences from the standard mean significant (p< 0.05), in serum samples and the standard mean of all stages of lactation and pregnancy. Magnesium results showed significant (p< 0.05) no difference between the mean of Magnesium in serum samples and the standard mean. Sodium results showed no differences between the mean of Sodium (p< 0.05),. Potassium results showed significant (p< 0.05) no difference between the mean of Potassium in serum samples and the standard mean. Results were analyzed using SPSS software (Student T test with p≤ 0, 05).
