REVISION THR IN TYPE 3B PAPROSKY DEFECT OF THE ACETABULUM: A CASE REPORT

ABSTRACT
The number of THR continues to increase worldwide. This inevitably leads to increase in the number of revision hip arthroplasty. Great acetabular defects (Paprosky Type 3A and 3B) are still one of the most serious problems in such type of surgery. They require detailed planning and well experienced surgeon. Intrapelvic cup protrusion is a challenge. Allografts are often needed in order to reconstruct the defect and to restore the continuity of the pelvis. We present a clinical case of revision THR in a patient with type 3B Paprosky defect of the acetabulum.
