ABSTRACT
The present work aimed to developmethod for simultaneous estimation of Acebrophylline (ABP) and Montelukast (MLK) in pure and marketed formulation by UV-Spectroscopy. Method are simple, accurate, rapid, precise, economical and reliable. For the simultaneous estimation of this combination, Vierdot’s method were performed. Method is based on solving a simultaneous equation. Absorbancesmaxima for ABP and MLK were measured at their respective absorbance maximas (λmax) of 250.14 and 284.79 nm respectively. Methods are validated according to ICH guidelines. Methanol was used as diluents. Methodobeys Beer’s law in the concentration range of 6-18 μg/mL for ABP (R2=0.9994) and MLK (R2=0.9982). LOD and LOQ for ABP were found to be 0.29μg/mL and 0.6 μg/mL and for MLK 0.25μg/mL and 0.75μg/mL respectively. Percentage purity of ABP and MLK in assay of marketed formulation (Abrofyl M Tab) was found to be 100%, 101% respectively. The method showed good reproducibility and recovery with % RSD < 2%.The proposed methods are simple, rapid, and validated and can be used successfully for routine simultaneous estimation of Acebrophylline and Montelukastin a pure and marketed formulation.
