Cardamom consists of many therapeutic benefits such as antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, anti-mutagenic, etc. In this study, cardamom oil is extracted by hydrodistillation from cardamom pods in whole (neat) as well as powdered form. The oil, thus extracted, is analysed on GC-MS and the data is compared with market cardamom oil. Cardamom oil contains 1,8-cineole and α-terpinyl acetate.
