ANATOMICAL REVIEW OF URVI MARMA WITH SPECIAL REFERENCE TO THIGH ANATOMY

ABSTRACT

Aim: Study of Urvi marma using dissection method and Study of structures related to Urvi marma according to Ayurvedic and modern science. Materials and methods will be review of Ayurveda Shareer and modern anatomy correlation of Urvi marma. Literary review will be done with the help of various Ayurveda and modern texts. For actual understanding of position of Urvi marma cadaver dissection will be done. Result will be based on total correlation and comparison of Urvi marma and thigh anatomy. Comparison of Ayurveda texts and actual findings in cadaveric dissection will be done. Practical dissection and visualization will help understand the subject more deeply. Conclusion will be done with the help of results obtained. This study will help understand exact location of Urvi marma. Marma or vital points in the body is Ayurveda speciality. Marmas are considered in treatment, Agnikarma and in major surgeries. Marma locations are aggregations of Muscles, vessels, bones and joins which if hurt can lead to major blood loss, severe pain or lifelong deformity. These points should be avoided while performing any procedures or surgeries on the body. One of such marma is Urvi marma. This study explains Urvi marma with its correlation to Anatomy of thigh.
