CRITICAL ANALYSIS ON THE CONCEPT OF RAKTA AS CHATURTHA DOSHA

ABSTRACT
The basic physiology of Ayurveda mostly consists of three fundamental things, i.e. three Doshas, seven Dhatus and three Malas. Acharya Susruta explained the importance of three Doshas i.e, Vata, Pitta & Kapha are the cause for the origin of body and they are situated respectively in the lower, middle & upper parts of the body. They Maintains the body like three pillars (Tristhuna) which supports the house and when it became abnormal it causes destruction of body. Acharya also mentioned that along with three Doshas Shonita, the 4th Dosha present even during the origin, existence & destruction of the body. here, this becomes the debatable topic for whole Ayurveda
scholars, Because Rakta is Basically considered as one among Sapta Dhatus. So whether we can accept Rakta as Chaturtha Dosha or It is only one among the Sapta Dhatus. so, here attempt is made to discuss the possible points for the same.
