ABSTRACT
Introduction: Traumatic or irritational fibroma is one of the most commonly encountered oral mucosal lesions. The typical presentation is a well-demarcated growth in gingival or buccal mucosa. Surgical excision is the treatment of choice. Case Series: This case series describes three clinical cases of traumatic fibroma on buccal mucosa. Laser excision procedure was performed under topical anesthesia for all the cases. The diode laser wavelength 940nm in contact mode was used. The laser device specifications are operating voltage 100V-250V at 1.5A and frequency 50/60 Hz. Conclusion: The described clinical cases demonstrated satisfactory results with no post-operative complications. The application of diode lasers in oral soft tissue lesions
have enormous benefits such as hemostatic property, painless, minimal swelling and scarring. Laser management of traumatic fibroma can be considered as an excellent and efficient alternative to surgical excision.
Keywords: traumatic fibroma, diode laser, surgical excision.
