MANAGEMENT OF ARSHA: A CASE STUDY

ABSTRACT
In the present era ano-rectal disorders are increasing in number due to adaptation of sedentary life style, cola- culture, fast food and mental stress. Among these Arsha (Haemorrhoid) is most common disease. Acharya Sushruta mentioned Bhaishaj chikitsa as first line treatment of this disease. Arsha (Haemorrhoids) is an extremely common ano-rectal problem reported since vedic period with a prevalence rate that is highest among all the ano-rectal disorders. The term Haemorrhoids is popularly used to refer for pathological varicosity of the haemorrhoidal veins due to increased pressure, and usually results by
straining during defecation, chronic constipation or diarrhoea, pregnancy, etc. In the present case we advised Triphla guggulu,Triphala churna and Jatyadi Oil to patient of Arsha (Hemorrhoids).These ayurvedic medicines provide local analgesic, anti-inflammatory and laxative action along with significant symptomatic improvement to the patient.
