ABSTRACT
The GC-MS method of identification and terms of sonnat determination have been developed. There is shown the application posibility of this method on forensic chemical examinations in qualitative and quantitative analysis of sonnat, which is isolated from biological objects. Chemical structure of sonnat (zopiclone) is derived from cyclopyrolone. In addition to the hypnotic effect, it has a calming, anxiolytic and anticonvulsant effect. In long-term use, increasing in the
dosage of sonnat or use with other sedative, hypnotic drugs leads to development of side effectsin different degrees of CNS depression: from drowsiness to coma.
Keywords: sonnat, method, gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS), isolation, definition, qualitative and quantitive analysis.
