A CASE STUDY ON ERYTHEMATIC NECROTICANS WITH TYPE-II LEPRA REACTIONS (ENL)

ABSTRACT
Leprosy reactions is an immune complex mediated reactions which rarely shows the immunological perturbation of type-II lepra reactions are also called as Erythema nodosum leprosum, it is an acute inflammatory reaction. Erythema necroticans are multiple fluid filled lesions present over the forearm, trunk, arm, face, thigh & lower extremities. Parenteral medication of NSAIDS & ferrous sucrose preparation due to fever & chills and after 24hrs administration of this medication patient observed lesions over the fore arms, arms & thigh region for a period of 7 days. These erosions get ruptured in 1 to 2 days leaving multiple erosions with ulcers at the site, In this case the patient was treated with MDT, Blood & Albumin transfusion along with
thalidomide was given to hold the steroids.
