ABSTRACT
The prepared Dexamethasone transfersomes had a high entrapment efficiency ranging from 71.16% to 94.63 %, with small particle sizes ranging from 82.23 nm to 170.6 nm. The surface morphology of transferosomes was measured by using optical microscope and scanning electron microscope and vesicles were found to be spherical in shape. The in-vitro release study suggested that there was an inverse relationship between entrapment efficiency and in-vitro release. Formulation F5 showed high percentage of drug entrapment and sustained the drug release for prolong period of time. The kinetic analysis of all release profiles was found to follow first order release kinetics. Stability results showed no significant change in pH, drug
content, and cumulative percentage drug release indicates no drug degradation. Therefore, Dexamethasone in the form of transfersomal gel has the ability to Sustain the drug release for the longer duration, hence decreases the number of application of drugs and also improves patient compliance.
