ABSTRACT
The present study was carried out, to evaluate the antioxidant activity of ethanolic leaf extract of Butea monosperma (Lam.) Taub. Free radicals are generated during oxidative stress. The antioxidant potential of ethanolic leaf extract was assessed by DPPH (2,2-Diphenyl,2-picryl-hydrazyl) free radical scavenging assay method. The phytochemical constituents such as flavonoids present in the leaf extract attributes to the antioxidant activity. The antioxidants prevent the deleterious effects of free radicals.
