A SINGLE CASE STUDY OF PREPATELLAR BURSITIS

ABSTRACT

Most common type of the bursitis with higher incident rate is Prepatellar Bursitis. Inflammation of bursa present in front of patella and skin over patella is Prepattelar bursitis. According to modern lines, treatment given is rest to the part, knee cap, anti inflammatory drugs, NSAID’s, antibiotics if infection is present, steroidal injections and surgery in non resolvable cases. Inspite of all these treatment patient may not get satisfactory result. Such cases can be effectively managed by Ayuveda and one of our patient with prepattelar bursitis was managed effectively by Samanaushadi’s – Trayodasanga guggulu, Kamadugha rasa, Shunti churna and Rasna churna.
