CONCEPTUAL STUDY OF UDAVART AS ETIOLOGICAL FACTOR OF PRATISHYAY [RHINITIS]

ABSTRACT
Ayurveda is the science of life. The purpose of Ayurveda according to Indian philosophers view human beings are superior to any living beings and there are certain aims and objectives (Purushartha) of human being viz- dharma, artha, kama and moksha. According to Ayurveda most of the diseases will evident due to the forceful expulsion and voluntary suppression of natural urges. Hence for the prevention of the diseases one should not suppress the natural urges. Now human life style became overactive and disagreeable. A person works for whole day and night without rest. So he won’t have adequate ahara [healthy food] and nidra [sieep] regularly. Because a person has much desire to acquire more money, power and skills, by this he is
doing dharaniya vega adharan (refrain from satisfying the urges relating to grief, greed, fear etc)[7] and effect of this adharaniya vega (suppression of natural urges) will be dharan like mutra (urine), purish (faeces), kshudha (hungry) and trushna (thirst) etc which origin lead to a condition of udavart. Now udavart (reverse movement of vayu) is an etiological factor of Pratishyay (Rhinitis).
