ABSTRACT

In 1965, some researchers published the first description of swollen phospholipid system. Within a few year, a variety of enclosed phospholipid bilayer structures consisting of single bilayer, initially „bangosomes‟ and then „liposomes‟, were described. The earlier Pioneers such as Gregoriadis and Perrie have established the concept that liposomes can entrap drugs and can be used as drug delivery system. Gregoriadis G, et al; (2010).
