GC-MS ANALYSIS OF BIOACTIVE COMPOUNDS FROM THE AQUEOUS SEED EXTRACT OF TRACHYSPERMUM AMMI (L.)

ABSTRACT
The investigation was carried out to find the possible bioactive compounds of seed of Trachyspermum ammi (L.) and the biochemical compositions of the aqueous extract of Trachyspermum ammi (L.) analysed by GC-MS method, while the mass spectra of the compounds found in the extract was matched with NIST ( National Institute of Standards and Technology) library. Nearly 12 compounds from this plant seeds were identified of which m- Hydromandelic acid, Benzo(h) quinoline, N- Methyl nicotinimidate derivatives were preserve to be predominant phyto compounds were identified. All identified phytochemical compounds were beneficial, medicinally valuable and for further investigations for the improved novel lead of therapeutic use.
