ABSTRACT
The underlying work was conducted aiming at curing Ehrlich ascites carcinoma tumor implanted to group of mice, using a sonophotodynamic modality in combination with nano-Chl as a sonophoto sensitizer drug. The result revealed that the treatment therapy of intraperitoneal (IP) injection of nano-Chl, then treated with irradiation of 7000Hz IRL, followed by pulsed ultrasound 3 watts for 3 minutes was fast and efficient in the destruction of cancerous cells. It is recommended that future research should focus on improving such therapy through increasing the time of treatment to more that 3 minutes to speed destruction of all cancerous cells. Correlation coefficients among biological variables (Glutathione-S-Transferase Activity (GST),
Glutathione Reductase (GR), Catalase Activity (CAT) Total Antioxidant Capacity (TAC), and Superoxide Dismutase Activity (SOD)) were all highly significant positively related (P<0.001). On the other hand, they showed significant negative correlation coefficients with Lipid Peroxidation (Malondialdehyde (MDA), Urea, Creatinine (Creat), Alanine Aminotransferase (ALT), AST, Gamma-Glutamyl transferase determined by (GGT), tumor volume (TV) and tumor weight (TW). It was noticed that N% showed high significant positive correlation coefficients with biological values (GST, GR, CAT, TAC), whereas, highly significant negative correlation coefficients with MDA, Urea, Creat, ALT, AST, GGT, TV and TW. The estimation of correlation coefficients revealed that for future research on serum biological variables, any one of the studied variables can be represented all other variables. This may save time, efforts and money. It is concluded that therapy using nano-chlorophyll in combination with sonophotodynamic on Ehrlich ascites carcinoma in mice was fast and high efficiency to destroy cancerous cells. Also correlation coefficients estimated were high and significant (P<0.001) for most biological, renal, hepatic and histological markers.
