CRITICAL STUDY OF DAUHRIDAJANYA VIKAR W.S.R. TO SUSRUTA SAMHITA AND ITS MODERN PERSPECTIVE

ABSTRACT
Acharya Susruta has mentioned in the fourth month of pregnancy, the fetus expresses it desires through the mother, to fulfill the nutritional deficit thereafter the mother called Dauhridini. When pregnant woman desires fulfilled she gives birth to a child who will be valiant and longlived. If these desires are not fulfilled she gives birth to a child having abnormalities in the concerned developing organ like kubja, kudi, khanja, jada, Vaman, Vikritaksha, Andhata. As nutritional and hormonal balance is the most important factor for the adequate development of fetus and these desires of pregnant woman are outcome to fulfill these deficit. If these desire are ignored behavioral and psychological changes occurs in her body resulting nutritive
deficiency in the developing fetus, impairment the HPA axis and hormonal imbalance in pregnant women body. In this article it will be tried to correlate the Dauhrida awastha and Dauhrida Awastha janya vikar stated by Acharya Susrtuta and probable mode of action in modern perspective.
