Abstract

REVIEW OF LITERATURE OF KRIMIDANTA WITH SPECIAL REFERENCE TO DENTAL CARIES: A CONCEPTUAL STUDY

ABSTRACT

Now a day because of people eating habits and junk foods, sugary diet bad oral hygiene dental caries is common dental disease observed in clinical practice. It is a permanently damaged area in teeth that develops into tiny holes because of microbes causing calcified tissue of teeth characterized by demineralization of inorganic portico and damaging organic substance of teeth. Dental caries is popular disease that affects small children mostly and at all age. It we observed that causative factors, signs and symptoms and of treatment dental caries it is similar to krimidanta mentioned by various Acharyas like Sushruta, Vagbhata in 8 dantotgatavyadhi. It has especially black discoloration and hole in teeth tissue, swelling, bleeding, Pus formation and very severe pain it is because of vitiated all doshas specially vata. Vataghna tail kaval and gandhusha ushna veerya dravyas are to be mentioned in the management of krumidanta. Special highlight will be made in this paper to evaluate pathophysiology & treatment in Ayurveda & comparison of treatment.
