A REVIEW ON INDRALUPTA: TREATED WITH PRACHHAN KARMA, LEPA BY GUNJA SEED KALKA & NASYA, LOCAL APPLICATION OF TAIL

ABSTRACT
Hair form an important anatomical structure of the body which not only have protective function but also adds beauty of the face. Increased industrialization & urbanization has posed greater danger due to pollution contamination of water air, food habits due to their intrinsic factors, hence there is definite increase in the incidence of hair fall. Hair falling is called Alopecia areata. In Ayurveda, alopecia areata can be correlate with Indralupta on the basis of sign and symptom. In modern science treatment modalities like use of corticosteroid, laser therapy but all have lots of adverse effect. In Ayurveda literature Acharya had briefly explain hair and mentioned many more modalities
to treat hair loss. Nidan Pariverjana, Shodhana (Prachchana, Nasya), Shamana by internal use of Rasayana(Aamlaki rasayana) and externally use Abhyanga (Aadityaguduchi pakwa taila), Lepa (kalka of gunja seed). After follow the plan of treatment as per Acharya early get rid off Indralupta.
