ABSTRACT

Bio – technology: Any technological application that uses biological systems, living organism, or derivatives there to make or modify products or to processes for specific use. It is extensively used in engineering, medicine, science and technology, agriculture and other valuable form of applications. Herbal medicine is one of the most important source of life saving drugs for the majority of the world’s population. The increase in the demand for medicine also decrease their natural population. Thus, biotechnological tools plays important role to select, multiply and conserve the critical genotypes of medicinal plants. This article focus on techniques used in biotechnology to reach the needs in the population.
