ABSTRACT
Port wine stains are congenital capillary vascular malformations that present as macular red patches. These grow linearly in proportion with the individual’s growth. Though the increase in size stops once the growth of the individual stops, these have the potential to progressively deepen in colour, become lumpy and to bleed on minor trauma. In the head and neck region there is predilection for occurrence of port wine stains along V1 and V2 dermatomes. Port wine stain can be the manifestation of syndromes such as Sturge Weber syndrome and Klipper- Trenaunay syndrome. Here we are describing a case report of a female patient who reported with extra oral port wine stain involving V1 and V2 dermatomes.
Keywords: Port wine stain, Sturge Weber syndrome, Capillary malformation, Congenital, Red macule.
