ABSTRACT
The Inflammation is a serious health problem in industrialized country
due increase in pollution. In the present study a series of new pyrazole
clubbed with quinazolinone compounds (7a1-2, 7b1-2) were synthesized
and were evaluated for their anti-inflammatory activity by using the
model of carrageenan induced mice paw edema in adult albino rat on
comparison with standard diclofenac. The maximum antiinflammatory
activity was recorded by the compound 7a1 having
65.38% percentage protection of edema followed by compound 7b1
(60.25 %), 7b2 (50 %) & 7a2 (39.74%) anti-inflammatory potential.
The compound 7a1 showed more percentage protection of edema than that of standard drug
Diclofenac sodium. It has been found that the extent of increase in paw volume reduces
significantly up to 3 hrs when compared with solvent control.
