ABSTRACT
Apixaban Orodispersible tablets were prepared using a simple Direct Compression approach using Crospovidone XL 10 as superdisintegrant. Preliminary batches showed that the blend had poor compressibility, so a dry binder such as L-HPC was added to increase the compatibility of the blend without compromising Disintegration Time. The prepared tablets were evaluated for Weight variation, Thickness, Hardness, Disintegration Time, Dissolution, Water uptake study and the final optimized formulation was exposed to Accelerated Stability Study. A full factorial statistical optimization was carried out on the best optimized formulation to establish the design space for
selected factors i.e., L-HPC and Crospovidone XL 10 against Response Disintegration Time and Dissolution at 5 min. A significant effect of both factors was found on Disintegration Time and Dissolution Rate which justifies the use and rationale of the excipients.
