ABSTRACT

This research work has been aimed to the synthesis of some new derivatives of 2-(5-chloro-3-(4-(3-chloro-4-oxo-1-(4-substituted phenyl azetidin-2-yl)-1-(pyridin-4-yl)-1H-pyrazol-3-yl)-1H-indol-1- yl)-N'-(1-(4-substituted piperidine methyl)-2-oxoindolin-3- ylidene)acetohydrazide (10 a-j) were prepared from 2-(5-chloro-3-(4- substituted phenyl imino)methyl)-1-(pyridine-4-yl)-1H-pyrazol-3-yl)- 1H-indol-1-yl)-N1-(2-oxo -1-(4-substituted piperidin-1-ylmethyl) indolin-3-ylidene)acetohydrazide(9a-j). A mixture of (9 a-j) having imine group (C=N) which on reacted with 2-chloro acetyl chloride in presence of triethyl amine in dioxane was stirred at room temperature for 8hours to get corresponding azetidinone derivatives (10 a-j). The structure of the newly synthesized products were charecterized by IR, NMR, Mass and elemental analysis for carbon, hydrogen and nitrogen. All the compounds were evaluated for anti-bacterial and anti-fungal activity. Some of these compounds showed good antibacterial and antifungal activity compared with standard compounds.

Keywords: phenyl azitidin,1H-pyrazol-3-yl, acetohydrazide, piperidin, anti-bacterial, antifungal activity.
