ABSTRACT
The present study aimed at evaluating the antifungal effect of crude extract of cassia auriculata flowee against fungi such as Aspergillus niger, penicillium notatum and Fusarium oxyporum. The agar disc diffusion method was used to determine the inhibitory effect of cassia auriculata flower using three solvents namely ethanol, methanol and water. The phytochemical analysis gave the positive result for terpanoids, saponins, tannins, fllavonids, and steroids. Out of the three extracts used acetone were found to be high active against Fusarium
oxyporum and Penicillium notatum. Aspergillus niger is resistant for cassia auriculata. The biomolecules (protein and carbohydrates) are estimated in calorimetric method.
Keywords: Antifungal activity, Cassia auriculata, Disc diffusion method, phytochemical screening, biomolcules estimation.
