*Dr. U. Danya
ABSTRACT
Ferronia limonia (L.) Swingle belongs to the family Rutaceae and is widely distributed in most tropical and subtropical countries. The present investigation, antioxidant activity of essential oil of F. limonia was evaluated by various assays. The activity was increased due to the concentration of the sample. DPPH, Hydroxyl, Reducing power and metal chelating assays showed significant antioxidant activity. The results of this study demonstrate that the extract can shield the oxidative stress and the phytoconstituents might be correlated with its antioxidant and free radical scavenging activity.
Keywords: Ferronia limonia, DPPH, Hydroxyl, Reducing power and metal chelating assays, antioxidant.
