ABSTRACT
Ayurveda is one of the traditional medicine of India which involves the use of natural elements to eliminate the root cause of disease by restoring balance at the same time create the healthy lifestyle to prevent recurrence of imbalance. Dravyaguna is the specialized branch of Ayurvedic pharmaceutics that provides us variety of effective herbal information. Panchbhautik Parikshana of Dravya is an examination tool, which is used for differentiating the Dravyas. Panchbhautik Parikshana elaborated in simple ways by Acharya Charaka in Sutrasthana, which results to be beneficial for today’s Ayurvedic
practitioners. Gambhari is plant of Dashmoola Gana, which used extensively in most of the Ayurvedic preparations. Authenticity of any Market sample was checked out through Physico-chemical, Pharmacognostical, Phytochemical evaluation as well as through qualitative parameters like TLC, HPTLC etc. By means of this parameters issues like adulteration, substitution can be lower down as well as effectiveness of Ayurvedic formulation rises.
