Anamika Tom*, Mathew George and Lincy Joseph
ABSTRACT
Quinoxaline is also called benzopyrazine. It is a heterocyclic compound containing a ring complex made up of a benzene ring and a pyrazine ring and it is isomeric with other naphthyridines including quinazoline, phthalazine, and cinnoline. Structure modification of the quinoxaline nucleus have demonstrated the application in various fields and provided remarkable efficacy against various diseases with fewer side effects. Quinoxaline derivatives have proved to be valuable synthetic intermediates and also posses important pharmacological activities like antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, analgesic, antitumor activities. The present review provides an insight view o the novel synthetic strategies for quinoxaline derivatives and its
chemotherapeutic activities.
Keywords: Quinoxaline, Cancer, Chemotherapy, anticancer activity, anti-tumor activity.
