STUDIES ON PHYTOCHEMICAL ANALYSIS OF PLANT CALOTROPIS GIGANTEAN

ABSTRACT

Objectives: The present study was to find out the presence of phytochemical analysis in the plant of Calotropis gigantean. Methods: The phytochemical qualitative analyses, such as alkaloids, tannins, phenolic compounds, saponin, flavonoids, steroids, glycosides were screened in four extract by using standard methods. Result: The four extract (Methanol, Acetone, Chloroform and Per.ether) were performed for this plant Calotropis gigantean. In plant methanol extracts showed positive result like presence of alkaloids, tannins, phlobatannins, saponin, flavonoids, steroids, and glycosides. The methanol extracts showed highest amount of phytochemicals when compared with other solvent extract. Conclusion: More active compound will be screened from the selected plant of Calotropis gigantean this may be used for botanical pesticide in future and not affect to environment.
