Abstract

1, 3 DIPOLAR CYCLOADDITION REACTION OF HYDROXYL SUBSTITUTED WITH N-ARYLMALEIMIDES LEADING TO THE SYNTHESIS OF SUBSTITUTED STEREOISOMERIC HEXAHYDROPYRROLO[3,4-D]ISOXAZOLE-4,6-DIONE DERIVATIVE IN AQUEOUS MEDIUM

ABSTRACT

Employing aqueous condition under acid catalysed under thermal treatment hydroxyl substituted nitrone (I) with substituted Narylmaleimide (II) have provided stereoisomeric 2,3,5-triaryl-4H- 2,3,3a,5,6,6a-hexahydropyrrolo[3,4-d]isoxazole-4,6-dione derivatives (III) in excellent yield. These stereoisomers have been characterized as cis-3A and trans-3B on the basis of their spectral data and have been isolated in the ratio 2:1 respectively in all the cases.
