ABSTRACT
The present study was aimed at detecting the phytochemicals and
evaluating antimicrobial activities of Holoptelea integrifolia known for
their medicinal properties in folk medicine. Phytochemical screening
was carried out on the leaves of Holoptelea integrifolia..
Phytochemical studies reveal that methanol extract was the richest
extract for phytoconstituents, except flavonoids. The chloroform
extract contains fats and fixed oil.while Petroleum ether extract
contains protein and amino acids, fat ,fixed oils.next is water extract
that contain glycosides, tannins, phenolic compound,
flavonoids, titerpenoids and sterols, carbohydrate, fats and
saponins.again acetone extract contain glycosides, protein and amino
acids and carbohydrate. among all the extract methanol extract showed
the highest activity against all microorganism except B.cereus.in case of B.cereus benzene
extract showed higher activity than methanol and against M.luteus also benzene extract
showed the similar activity as methanol.Anti bacterial activity of benzene and methanol
extract against B.cereus was higher than the standard drugs.in case of antifungal activity
benzene extract showed highest antifungal activity against P.chrysogenum and R.arrhijus.
