A LITERATURE REVIEW ON SOME MEDICINAL PLANTS USED FOR THE MANAGEMENT OF THE LIVER DISORDERS IN TRADITIONAL MEDICINE

ABSTRACT

Recently there is a greater global interest in non synthetic, natural drugs derived from plant / herbal sources due to better tolerance and minimum adverse drug reactions. Medicinal plants have been playing an essential role in the development of human culture. Medicinal plants are regarded as rich resources of secondary metabolites i,e active chemical constituents and from these plants many of the modern medicines are produced. For thousands of years medicinal plants have been used to treat health disorders and to prevent diseases. The use of natural remedies for the treatment of liver diseases has a long history. In this review we gave general overview of some medicinal plants used for the treatment of Jaundice / liver disorders.
