AYURVEDIC MANAGEMENT OF AAMVATA(RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS)-A CASE REPORT

ABSTRACT
Aamvata is a chronic, progressive and crippling disorder caused due to generation of aama and its association with vitiated vata dosha and deposition in sandhi sthana. On basis of clinical appearance, it can be taken parallel to R.A. The treasure of Ayurveda therapeutics has laid out detailed treatment line for aamvata. Here Presenting a case study of woman aged complaining of pain and stiffness in wrist, interphlangeal, metacarpal joints followed by swelling in both legs with morning stiffness with blood investigation R.A reactive, CRP abnormal described later on. Based on clinical examination and blood
investigations, diagnosis of aamvata (R.A) was made and ayurvedic treatment protocol was advised with yoga basti and vaitran basti. The patient was asked for follow up after 15 days. Assesment was done subjectively based on clinical symptomps. there was substantially significant improvement in the patient and she felt relieved of pain and inflammation of joints after treatment.
