Abstract

SYNTHESIS OF NOVEL 4-SUBSTITUTED-1, 2, 3-TRIAZOLE TAGGED 1-PHENYL-3-(TRIFLUOROMETHYL)-1H-PYRAZOLE-4-CARBALDEHYDE DERIVATIVES

ABSTRACT

Eleven derivatives of 1-phenyl-5-(4-phenyl-1H-1,2,3-triazol-1-yl)-3-(trifluoromethyl)-1H-pyrazole-4-carbaldehydes were synthesized from the key intermediate 5-azido-1-phenyl-3-(trifluoromethyl)-1H-pyrazole-4-carbaldehyde (5). In the final step the reaction of 5 with substituted acetylenes was carried out by employing click chemistry approach. The structures of the synthesized compounds were confirmed by means of 1H NMR, IR, and Mass spectra. The synthesized compounds were screened for anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial activities. Among the compound tested 6b, 6c and 6j exhibited significant anti-inflammatory activity while the other compounds 6a and 6k showed moderate activity. None of the synthesized compounds showed any significant antimicrobial activity even at the concentration of 1000 μg/ml.
