Abstract

EFFECT OF FLY ASH ON THE HAEMATOLOGICAL PARAMETERS OF CHANNA PUNCTATUS (BLOCH).

ABSTRACT

The present investigation deals with the effect of fly ash on Haematology parameters of Channa punctatus. Fly ash used was collected from Jayaswal NECO Industries, Siltara growth center, Raipur,(C.G). Fly ash induced significant changes at sub lethal concentration during short term and long term exposure in Haematology. The results shown a decrease in parameters like RBC, WBC and Heamoglobin at short term exposure and in long term exposure while WBC increases during long term exposure. Increase and decrease in Haematology indices means that fish was exposed to fly ash pollutants and was under stress.
