ABSTRACT
The aim of study was to evaluate the antioxidant activity and Antiproliferative activity of ethanolic leaves extract of Trigonella foenum- graecum against human breast cell line, MCF-7. The results show that T. foenum-graecum ethanolic extract exhibited potent DPPH and radical scavenging activity with IC₅₀ value 800μg/ml when compared with the Ascorbic acid IC₅₀ value by 600μg/ml. The antiproliferative activity was tested using MTT assay which revealed 94.91% and 99.82% for crude and pure extract respectively. The IC₅₀ value was achieved at 30μg/ml-40μg/ml. This study suggest that this plant leaves could be a potential source of natural antioxidant and FCE
exhibits anticancer effects by blocking the proliferation of MCF-7 cells and inducing apoptosis.
