Abstract

IN VITRO EVALUATION OF ANTI-OXIDANT ACTIVITY OF DIFFERENT EXTRACTS OF AERVA LANATA LEAVES

ABSTRACT

The plant Aerva lanata was investigated for their antioxidant activity. The extractions were subjected to assay by Reducing power, Nitric oxide scavenging activity and DPPH methods for evaluation of anti oxidant activity. Among these petroleum ether extract of Aerva lanata revealed strongest antioxidant activity. The results primarily suggest the presence of potent oxidant inhibitory principles in the leaves of Aerva lanata.
