AYURVEDIC MANAEMENT OF PARKARTIKA W.S.R. TO FISSURE IN ANO

ABSTRACT

Fissure in Ano in acute stage is found associated with bleeding and pain per rectum with constipation. Present study is for evaluating effect of Ayurvedic compound medicines on a group of patients with Fissure in Ano with constipation, bleeding and pain per rectum, difficulty in defecation, loss of appetite and weakness. The administration of Ayurvedic compounds as Haritaki Khand, Ajmodadi churna,& Kaharava pishti with hot sitz bath and Jatyadi taila basti with proper diet and regimen as described in Ayurveda showed better response in controlling signs and symptoms within a maximum duration of 15 days. The treatment is effective, economical & simple .Also shows necessity of post treatment follow-up in fissure in Ano. A single blind clinical study of 10 patients of Parikartika revealed that pain reduced to 100%, bleeding to 100%, constipation to 100%, fatigue to 80% and difficulty to defecate 100%. Thus this study showed significant relief in the patients of Parikartika.
