ANTIINFLAMMATORY ACTIVITY OF LEPIDAGATHIS CRISTATA LEAF EXTRACTS

ABSTRACT
The Lepidigathis cristata Wlld is belong to the family Acanthecae. The whole plant is used for its medicinal value that is for burns, wounds, fever, itchy affections of skin, ash is used for sores, powder is used for bitter tonic. In the present study the Anti-inflammatory activity of leave extracts was performed. The ethanol, ethyl acetate, chloroform extracts were prepared by soxhalet extraction method and were used for Anti-inflammatory activity in two dose level that is 200 and 400 mg/kg body weight in two screening methods, one is carrageenan induced paw edema method (n=5), another is Formalin induced paw edema method (n=5) and the leaf extracts are showed good analgesic activity.
